FAIRACRES FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSTS 3rd ANNUAL HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL

FAIRACRES FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSTS 3rd ANNUAL HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL

The Fairacres Volunteer Fire District is hosting its third annual Halloween Festival on Oct. 31 for children of all ages who are looking for an alternative to the door-to-door, tricks-for-treats tradition.

Assistant Chief Richard Largent, who puts together the annual event with his wife, Brandi, said his crew will once again pull out the fire trucks for the night and fill the station bay with games and prizes. Children who come in costume can take their pick of candy, too. New this year is pumpkin bowling, a haunted cemetery and a maze.

As with last year, the volunteer firefighters hope the festival will serve as an opportunity to connect with neighbors and provide an opportunity for future volunteer firefighters to learn more. Largent said the evening will also offer some educational, fire-prevention information.

The Fairacres Halloween Funhouse will be open Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fairacres Fire Station, 5208 Quesenberry Ln. For more information, call Brandi Largent at (575) 649-6421 or visit their website, www.fairacresfire.com.

The event is free and open to the public.
