HOUSING STUDY DRAFT REPORT TO BE ROLLED OUT

HOUSING STUDY DRAFT REPORT TO BE ROLLED OUT

A public meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, to release the draft report about how to address housing opportunities throughout Doña Ana County.

The Viva Doña Ana Fair Housing Study Presentation will take place at 10 a.m. in the conference suite of the Mesilla valley Public Housing Authority at 926 San Pedro St., in Las Cruces.

The presentation will include findings of the study, as well as recommendations and actions identified for addressing fair-housing equity concerns and the identification and improvement of housing opportunities county-wide.

The study identifies factors that hinder access to housing in areas located near schools, healthcare providers, jobs and other services. The goal is to reduce or eliminate barriers that make it difficult for people to get safe, affordable and conveniently located housing in Doña Ana County.
