SHERIFF’S OFFICE GARNERS MOST VOTES IN BATTLE OF THE BADGES BLOOD DRIVE

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office collected the most votes during the first-ever Las Cruces Battle of the Badges Blood Drive hosted by United Blood Services.

DASO, along with first-responders from the Las Cruces Police Department and Las Cruces Fire Department, participated in the friendly competition to see how many people they could recruit to donate blood on behalf of their respective departments.

After the ballots were counted, DASO finished first with 93 votes, followed by Las Cruces Fire with 36 votes and LCPD with 23 votes.

For its efforts, DASO wins a trophy and bragging rights until next year’s Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.

Blood donations can be made anytime throughout the year through a reservation with United Blood Services. For more information, call (575) 527-1322 or visit www.unitedbloodservices.org  to complete a health-history questionnaire.
