Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators have identified the man who led law enforcement officers on a multi-agency search Thursday after neighbors witnessed the man allegedly breaking into a home in the 600 block of King Edward Drive.

Just before 3 p.m., Aaron Reed, 22, was located in a shed behind the home he was accused of breaking into.

During questioning, Reed reportedly told investigators he did not act alone in the burglary, but he would not name the person who he alleged to have assisted him in the crime.

At the time of his arrest, Reed was on parole and had just been released from prison on Oct. 3, 2012, where he was serving time for aggravated assault and burglary.

Investigators charged Reed Thursday with one third-degree count of residential burglary, one fourth-degree count of conspiracy to commit burglary and resisting or evading, a misdemeanor charge.

Reed is being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center without bond.
