SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT TO HOST WINTER CITIZEN’S ACADEMY

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department is taking applications for its winter Citizen’s Police Academy, which will take place every Saturday for six weeks beginning Jan. 5, 2013. Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at 845 N. Motel Blvd.

MOBILE SHELTER UNITS READY FOR EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT

As many as 400 Doña Ana County residents can be given temporary shelter in the event of an emergency, thanks to a grant that recently purchased two mobile units ready to deliver necessary supplies anywhere they are needed in the county.

COUNTY OFFICES ANNOUNCE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22-23, 2012, to allow employees to observe the Thanksgiving holiday. Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected, but the administrative offices of the Doña Ana County Sheriff¹s Department will be closed.

PET-ADOPTION EVENTS SLATED ON SATURDAY, NOV. 17

RAFFLE TO BENEFIT HISTORICAL MUSEUM OF LAWMEN

The Special Deputy Sheriff Commission, an all-volunteer arm of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department, is hosting a drawing to raise funds that will go toward improvements inside the department’s Historical Museum of Lawmen.
