PET-ADOPTION EVENTS SLATED ON SATURDAY, OCT. 26
The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley will facilitate dog, cat, puppy and kitten adoptions this Saturday, Oct. 26. In addition to adoptions from the shelter site, adoptions also will take place at multiple off-site pet adoption events.

100 DAYS AND NIGHTS OF SUMMER INITIATIVE NETS CITATIONS, ARRESTS
Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies working an intensive, annual enforcement initiative through a partnership with the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, New Mexico Department of Transportation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving reported more than 13,000 citations and arrests during the 100 Days and Nights of Summer anti-DWI program.

DEPUTIES ASSIST WITH ALCOHOL AWARENESS PROJECT ON CAMPUS
Deputies with the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department gave students at New Mexico State University a grim reminder Wednesday of the consequences of drinking and driving, and helped provide an opportunity for students to pledge they will never choose to get behind the wheel of a vehicle after they’ve had a few too many.

DALRYMPLE ROAD RAIL CROSSING TO CLOSE FOR REPAIRS
Construction crews will close the railroad crossing at Dalrymple Road between Mayfield Lane and Doña Ana Road beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, to repair the crossing. Barring unforeseen complications, the crossing will reopen by 3 p.m.
