SILVIA SIERRA TAPPED AGAIN TO SERVE ON NATIONAL COMMITTEE
Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department Director C. Silvia Sierra has been re-appointed to serve on the Health Steering Committee of the National Association of Counties (NACo). She will serve a one-year term.
SHERIFF, COMMISSION TO RECOGNIZE LOCAL HEROES
Doña Ana County Sheriff Todd Garrison and the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners will recognize a team of rescue personnel who carried out a difficult mission last month near the Aguirre Springs recreational area on the east side of the Organ Mountains.
SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT TO AUCTION SEIZED VEHICLES ON OCTOBER 30
The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department will auction 60 seized vehicles at the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds on Saturday, Oct. 30.
VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO FACILITATE 12-STEP PROGRAMS FOR INMATES
The Doña Ana County Detention Center is seeking volunteers who can facilitate a 12-step program for inmates. The weekly Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous program for the mental-health wing of the facility has been curtailed due to a lack of facilitators.
PET ADOPTION EVENTS SLATED SATURDAY, OCT. 23
The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley will conduct two pet adoption events Saturday. Available for adoption will be dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
NEW STUDENT ART SHOW ANNOUNCED; RECEPTION SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 8
More than 100 pieces of original student artwork from the Las Cruces and Gadsden Public Schools are being installed in the first-floor corridors of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. in Las Cruces. The exhibit will include photography, paintings, etchings, drawings and sculpture. The artists range from elementary students to high schoolers. read more...
SOLID WASTE COUPON SALES LOCATIONS ANNOUNCED
Residents of Doña Ana County who wish to purchase solid-waste disposal coupons for use at Doña Ana County’s eight convenience stations may now do so at the following locations and times. Additional sites will be announced as they open.

Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Monday, October 11, 2010, to allow employees to observe the Columbus Day holiday. Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected, but the administrative offices of the Doña Ana County Sheriff¹s Department will be closed. read more...
PORTION OF YUCCA ROAD TO CLOSE MONDAY
Doña Ana County road crews will close a portion of Yucca Road east of N.M. 478 on Monday, Oct 4. The closure will facilitate replacement of the Mesquite Drain culvert. The closure is anticipated to last through the week. read more...
