CONTROLLED BURN SCHEDULED ON WEST FACE OF ORGAN MOUNTAINS
Doña Ana County has been notified that the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish plans to conduct a controlled burn on 7,000 acres on the west face of the Organ Mountains north of San Augustin Pass and the NASA test facility. Smoke from the fire is likely to be visible from the greater Las Cruces area.

FAMILIES TO GRADUATE FROM NINE-MONTH FAMILY-ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM
The Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department will host a graduation celebration Saturday, May 31, for 34 parents and 40 children who have completed a nine-month community-based curriculum titled AVANCE, which is designed to help families with young children break the cycle of poverty through a program combining early childhood development, parenting, adult literacy and healthy marriage classes. read more...
