Doña Ana County residents wishing to serve on an Airport Advisory Board for the county-owned airport at Santa Teresa are urged to request application forms.
The two-page application form seeks information related to interest in serving, knowledge of aviation and/or airport issues and other general information about the applicant’s qualifications to serve.
Licensed pilots are encouraged to apply. Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.

The Airport Advisory Board will comprise five members serving staggered three-year terms. Board members will work closely with the Airport Manager, County Engineer and Planning Director, along with a representative of the County Attorney’s Office.
The Airport Advisory Board will convene in March to set a meeting schedule and begin the work of identifying issues of airport importance related to safety, growth, development and administration. The Airport Advisory Board will be charged with periodically reporting to the Board of County Commissioners about issues of concern and then making recommendations for future operations. Updated bylaws are in the final stages of being drafted for approval by the Board of County Commissioners.
All meetings of the Airport Advisory Board will be held in accordance with the stipulations of the New Mexico Open Meetings Act.
