Three positions on the Doña Ana County Planning and Zoning Commission will be up for appointment or reappointment effective May 1, 1999.
The Planning and Zoning Commission considers issues related to land use and development at public hearings and meetings. Regular meetings are held twice monthly at 9 a.m. at the Doña Ana County Courthouse Commission Chambers, typically on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is empowered to review, approve or deny issues pertaining to: zone changes; non-residential site-plan reviews; planned-unit development overlay zones; variances; subdivisions; and appeals of staff decisions. The Planning and Zoning Commission also makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding amendments to the county’s zoning and subdivision ordinances.
The county seeks interested persons from all backgrounds to apply for the three open seats on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
