CASE # Z11-001/CASA MÉXICANA TILE: The applicant, Casa Méxicana Tile, Martha Orta, Agent, is requesting a Zone Change from EC1 (Neighborhood Commercial, 5-acre maximum lot size) to EC2 (Community Commercial, 5,000 sq. ft. minimum lot size) as required by Article 3, Section 3.1.K. to establish a commercial Event Center and Dance Hall. Special Use Permit Request Case # SU11-001 is being sought in conjunction with Zone Change Request. The applicant seeks to operate an Event Center and Dance Hall (Bella Ballroom) within a 7,200 sq. ft. existing structure. The 2.5-acre parcel is located south of the City of Las Cruces and is addressed as 5585 S. Main St., and is currently zoned EC1 (Neighborhood Commercial, 5-acre maximum new lot size). The property is located within Section 4, Township 24 South, Range 2 East, is described as Part of Lot 2, U.S.R.S. Tract 13-30E1, Replat No. 1 as recorded in the office of the Doña Ana County Clerk on August 1, 2001, in Book 19, Page 696, and can be further identified by Map Code # 4-009-139-185-487. This case was postponed at the March 17, 2011, ETZ Commission Meeting, by a vote of 4-0-0.

CASE # Z11-002/FOUR NEIGHBORS, LLC: The applicant, Four Neighbors, LLC, is requesting a Zone Change from ER 2 (Residential, 2-acre minimum new lot size, single-family site-built homes) to ER 3 (Residential, 1-acre minimum new lot size, single-family site-built homes) on a 15.45-acre parcel in order to create a 12-lot residential subdivision through the City of Las Cruces. The parcel is located north of Las Cruces, within Section 2, Township 23 South, Range 1 East, and is described as being Tract 5-133, NMPM of the USRS Surveys, recorded on February 14, 2006 in Book 685, Page 1885 in the office of the Doña Ana County Clerk. It is addressed as 3500 North Valley Dr., and can be further identified by Map Code # 4-005-133-205-035.

CASE # SU11-004/VERIZON WIRELESS: The applicant, Verizon Wireless, Denise Cardinal, Agent, is requesting a Special Use Permit to construct a 75’ tall cell tower on a 105.28-acre parcel per Section 4.2.E.2.b of the ETZ Ordinance. The property is located between the Town of Mesilla and the City of Las Cruces, and is zoned ER 3M (Residential, 1-acre minimum new lot size, single family site built and mobile homes). It is addressed as 300 South Motel Blvd, and is described as being USRS Tract 10-12D and part of USRS Tracts 10-12C and 10-12F of Sections 22, 23, and 27, Township 23 South, Range 1 East, as recorded in the office of the Doña Ana County Clerk in Book 311, Pages 314-315, on January 21, 1987. The parcel can be further identified by Map Code # 4-005-136-055-425.
