6. CASE # SU09-014/COOMES: The applicant, Todd Coomes, is requesting a Special Use Permit within the EC2 Zoning District (Commercial, Community Commercial District) to operate an existing outdoor event business (Kahuna’s) as required per Article III, Section 3.1.K.4 of the ETZ Ordinance. The 6.75-acre parcel is addressed at 6220 W. Picacho Ave, and is described as the S1/2, of NW1/4, of NW1/4, of SW1/4, & W1/2, of NW1/4, of NW1/4, of NW1/4, of SW1/4 within Section 20, Township 23 South, Range 1 East, as recorded in the office of the Doña Ana County Clerk in Book 149, Page 258 on May 18, 1959, and can be further identified by Map Code # 4-002-136-034-312.

CASE # SU10-006/VENEGAS: The applicants, Armando & Lucy Venegas, are requesting a Special Use Permit to place a 1,024 sq. ft. mobile home on a 1.25-acre parcel zoned ER 2M (Residential, 2-acre minimum new lot size, single family site built and mobile homes) for their daughter. The property is located east of the City of Las Cruces within Section 10, T 22 S, and R 3 E, and is addressed as 4448 Butterfly Ln. The subject parcel is described as part of the SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 10, T22S., R3E., N.M.P.N. of the U.S.G.L.O. Surveys as recorded in the office of the Doña Ana County Clerk in Book 769, Pages 159-160, on December 5, 2006, and can be further identified by Map Code # 4-016-128-048-420.

8. CASE # Z10-002/QUÉSADA: The applicants, René and Margarita Quésada, are requesting a Zone Change on a 2.56-acre parcel from EC 1 (Neighborhood Commercial, 5-acre maximum new lot size) to EI1 (Light Industrial, 5000 sq. ft. minimum new lot size) to have a business office and to store trucks and trailers on the property. The parcel is located north of the City of Las Cruces on the corner of Weisner Road and Rhonda Lane within Section 8, T22S, and R3E. It is described as being Lot 23, Block B of the Woodburn Addition of the USGLO Surveys, recorded on January 7, 1977 in Book 12, Pages 84-85 in the Doña Ana County Clerk’s office and can be further identified by Map Code # 4-014-128-242-148.

9. Proposed Amendment 2010-01 to the Las Cruces Extra-Territorial Zoning Ordinance (No.88-02), Article II, “Administration of the Zoning Code”, Section 2.3.B.1: Eliminating Variances to lot area. The ETZ will make a recommendation to the ETA on this issue.

Proposed Amendment 2010-02 to the Las Cruces Extra-Territorial Zoning Ordinance (No.88-02), Article II, “Administration of the Zoning Code”, Section 2.6.C, “Administrative Special Use Permits”, Article III, “Mobile Home and Recreational Vehicle Parks”, Section 3.5.B, “Application and Action” and Article VII, “Accessory Building”, Section 7.2.F, “ETZ Commission Approval required for Accessory Living Quarters”, to allow for administrative approval of all ETZ Special Use Permits. The ETZ will make a recommendation to the ETA on this issue.
