PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

The Doña Ana County Planning and Zoning Commission will consider the following agenda at their regular meeting to be held on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 9:00 a.m., in the Doña Ana County Government Center Commission Chambers located at 845 N. Motel Boulevard.

NEW BUSINESS
VARIANCE

3. CV06-005: The applicant, Mary Lou Herrera, is requesting a Variance from the minimum road access standards in order to obtain a Claim of Exemption to subdivide a 3-acre parcel within the Performance District. The Doña Ana County Land Use Regulations and Zoning Ordinance Article 9 Section 9.2.D requires a minimum road width of 50 feet with 24 feet of improved roadway for any type of development, or 30 feet based on a surface analysis from an engineer approved by the County Engineering Department. The applicant is proposing 16 feet and 20 feet with no improvements. The 3-acre parcel is located at 191 Sauce Lane in Anthony, NM within Township 26 South, Range 3 East, Section 17, and is further identified by Map Code # 4-015-153-170-130.

PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT OVERLAY ZONE

4. PUD 06-002: Submitted by Ralph Richards, a request to construct a new railroad spur to allow transport for construction materials and agricultural products from rail cars to trucks, in the performance district. Pursuant to the Doña Ana County Land Use Regulation and Zoning Ordinance (No. 158-95) the applicant shall comply with Article 8 Section 2.a to allow construction of a transportation facility for industrial and agricultural use. The parcel is approximately 21.11-acres in size and is located in Anthony, NM, in Township 26 South, Range 3 East, Section 15, and is further identified by Map Code 4-016-153-180-158.
Note: The applicant and Staff are requesting that the P&Z postpone this case until October 26. See attached memo.
