NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE DOÑA ANA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The following will be considered at a Special Meeting of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners to be held on Monday, December 5, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. in the Doña Ana County Commission Chambers on the 2nd Floor of the Doña Ana County Courthouse, 251 West Amador Avenue, Las Cruces, New Mexico:


The Board will determine if the conditions precedent for the calling of an election of the incorporation of the community of Chaparral, New Mexico have been satisfied. If the conditions precedent have not been met, the Board will notify the petitioners of their determination. If the conditions precedent have been met, the Board will direct the holding of an election on the first Tuesday of January 2006.

  1. Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation.
  2. Roll Call of Commission Members Present and Determination of Quorum.

COMMISSION CONVENES AS THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN OPEN SESSION.

  1. Staff Report: Mari Langford, Supervisor of Elections; Gary Perez, County Assessor; Chuck McMahon, Director, Planning & Community Development.
  2. Input from Proponents of Incorporation.
  3. Input from Opponents of Incorporation.
  4. Public Input.
  5. Commission Discussion and Action: The Board will determine if the conditions precedent for the calling of an election of the incorporation of the community of Chaparral, New Mexico have been satisfied. If the conditions precedent have not been met, the Board will notify the petitioners of their determination. If the conditions precedent have been met, the Board will direct the holding of an election on the first Tuesday of January 2006.

Note: The Commission may convene in closed session at any time during this special meeting to discuss threatened or pending litigation related to the incorporation of the community of Chaparral, NM, as authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Section 10-15-1 (H), Section 7. The Commission may then convene in open session, to take action, if any, on closed session items.
