SECOND SUSPECT ARRESTED IN RUIDOSO

The second suspect investigators were searching for in connection with a sexual assault in an East Mesa home has been arrested in Ruidoso.

Eloy O. Gonzales, 21, was taken into custody Tuesday by the Ruidoso Police Department, acting on a tip from the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

Investigators are now working on transporting Gonzales back to Doña Ana County.

Gonzales is charged with eight felony counts, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy, after two 14-year-old twin sisters told their parents Gonzales and another man, identified as 22-year-old Marcos Anthony Moncayo, came to their home on Jan. 12 with bottles of liquor. The girls told investigators they met the men through a social networking site called MocoSpace.com, claiming to be 20 years old. The girls said they confessed to being only 14 before Moncayo and Gonzales came to their home.

According to court documents, one of the sisters alleges Moncayo sexually assaulted her.

Moncayo was arrested on ten felony counts. He bonded out of jail Tuesday after his bond was reduced at arraignment.
