DEPUTIES SEARCH DONA ANA NEIGHBORHOOD FOR BURGLARY SUSPECT

A burglary suspect has been arrested following an extensive search through a Doña Ana neighborhood Thursday after neighbors reportedly saw the suspect break into a home.

It was a neighbor in the 600 block of King Edward, just off Doña Ana Road, who called police after they allegedly saw the man gain entrance though a window. The call was made around 11:30 a.m.

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area. When the suspect saw the first deputy, he fled on foot.

A perimeter of the area was set up and K-9 units combed surrounding houses in search of the suspect, who was later found in a shed behind the home he had allegedly broken into.

The suspect has been taken into custody and will be booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center.

More information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
