VOLUNTEER-FIREFIGHTER RECRUITMENT DRIVE UNDERWAY

The Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services Department is looking for qualified men and women who are interested in serving their community as volunteer firefighters.
Duties of a volunteer firefighter include responding to fire emergencies, assisting in medical emergencies, natural disasters and public-service assistance calls. Participation in community events and fire-prevention promotion is also included in the volunteer position.
Each year, volunteer firefighters in each of the county’s 16 fire districts are called to an average of 9,000 emergency situations throughout Doña Ana County. All training and equipment is supplied by Doña Ana County. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. A background check and driver’s history are both conducted at the time of recruitment.
