BUREAU OF ELECTION TO HOST POLL WORKER/PRECINCT JUDGE CLASSES

The Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections will coordinate three upcoming classes for precinct judges and poll workers who plan to work the June 5 Primary Elections.

The classes will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on May 18, 24 and 25. The May 18 and May 25 classes will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd., in Las Cruces. The May 24 class will be held at the Gadsden Community Center at 1700 O’Hara Rd., in Anthony.

Under state statute, each precinct judge and poll worker must attend a class to be certified to work the elections. All major details of the elections process will be covered by Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections personnel who will facilitate the classes. The classes are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Subject matter will include the processes for opening and closing the polls, poll-worker duties and operation of computers and voting machines at the individual voting sites.

Preregistration is not required, but all attendees must sign in before the class begins. Each person attending should bring paper and a writing instrument with which to take notes.
