COUNTY CONTINUES ‘DIA DEL NINO’ CELEBRATIONS FOR KIDS’ HEALTH AWARNESS

Four health fairs remain on the calendar for the7th annual Dia del Niño, hosted by the Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department and the AmeriCorps VISTA program.

Doña Ana County Community Resource Centers in Radium Springs, Chaparral, Rincon and Del Cerro will coordinate activities and raffles to promote the health and welfare of children for residents in each community through the end of April.

The first Dia del Niño fair kicked off in Organ on April 12. Nearly 100 people from Organ, Butterfield and the surrounding communities enjoyed demonstrations by the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit and Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services.

A bicycle, board games, toys and other sports equipment were also raffled off, made possible through donations by participating agencies like Molina Healthcare, Esperanza Guidance Services, Inc. and several others.

The last four Dia del Niño celebrations are scheduled as follows:
