DONA ANA COUNTY FIRE ACADEMY GRADUATES 16 CADETS

Sixteen cadets will graduate from the 4th volunteer firefighter training academy hosted by the Dona Ana County Fire and Emergency Services Department. The ceremony will be held Friday, March 16, at 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center. The public is invited to attend.

The graduating cadets represent the fire districts of Dona Ana, Anthony, New Mexico State University, La Mesa, Organ, Chaparral, Fairacres, South Valley, Chamberino and the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Graduating cadets are: Ryan Armendariz, Eric Bradley, Sandra Chavez, Tury Cortez, Dominick Coughlin, Juan Fortolis, Rudy Gonzalez, Thomas Howard, Brian Orquiz, Ryan Pena, Sydney Polk, Ronnie Sedillo, David Sifuentes, Issac Varajas, Johnny Villa and Jesse Duke.

The 14-day academy includes entry-level firefighter training, including a physical agility course, practical skills training, and several live-fire structural exercises.
The Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Service Department continually accepts applications for volunteer firefighters. Interested candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
