NORTH VALLEY SCRAP METAL THIEVES AT LARGE

NORTH VALLEY SCRAP METAL THIEVES AT LARGE

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators say two unknown men who allegedly loaded up piles of scrap metal from a residence in the north valley are still at large, and hope the public can help to locate them.

Shortly after 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, a man who lives in the 6100 block of North Valley Drive witnessed two men loading scrap metal from his property onto a flatbed, tandem-axle trailer.

The suspects reportedly drove away in what the victim described as a 1990s Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon SUV, possibly metallic rose in color.

Both the driver and the passenger were described as Hispanic males. The victim was able to get a description of the passenger, who is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately six feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds.

The owner had just reported a similar theft to the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department the previous day, and now investigators have reason to believe the same suspects may be involved in other scrap-metal burglaries in the area.

Anyone with information on this incident, or any other incident of this nature is encouraged to call the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department at (575) 525-8806.
