FAIRACRES FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSTS HALLOWEEN FUNHOUSE

The Fairacres-Picacho Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Halloween Funhouse on Oct. 31 for children of all ages who are looking for an alternative to the door-to-door, tricks for treats tradition.

Capt. Richard Largent says the 18-member crew will pull out the fire trucks for the night and fill the station bay with games and prizes. Children who come in costume can take their pick of candy, too.

“The Fairacres Halloween Funhouse is a way for us to connect with our community, and show families in our area that we are here for them, and we hope they will take advantage of the information we have to offer,” said Largent, who also noted that the evening will offer some educational information on safety as part of Fire Prevention Week. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer with the department can also learn more on Halloween night.

The Fairacres Halloween Funhouse will be open Monday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fairacres-Picacho Fire Station, 5208 Quesenberry Ln. For more information, call the station directly at (575) 525-2979 or visit their website, www.fairacresfire.com.

The event is free and open to the public.
