SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT SCHEDULES SATURATION PATROL

SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT SCHEDULES SATURATION PATROL

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Deputies will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols during the week of Sept. 24, 2011 and Sept. 30, 2011.

Increased patrols are an effort to reduce DWI-related crashes, injuries and deaths that could result from intoxicated drivers who choose to get behind the wheel.

Checkpoints will be held in various undisclosed locations throughout Doña Ana County between 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. During saturation patrols, deputies will be looking for all types of violations with an emphasis on intoxicated drivers.

New Mexico law also allows for the possible seizure or forfeiture of vehicles driven by people who have been convicted of multiple DWI offenses.
