COUNTY OPENS APPLICATION PERIOD FOR HEALTH-SERVICE EVALUATION COMMITTEE

Doña Ana County has opened the application period for individuals interested in evaluating external agency health-services funding applications for Fiscal Year 2011-12.

APPLICATION FOR EVALUATION COMMITTEE FORM

To be considered, each applicant must submit a detailed letter of interest, a current resume and a notarized document declaring they meet each of the following criteria:

  • Is not a current member of the Health and Human Services Alliance.
  • Is not employed by, related to an employee, or otherwise associated with an agency that has received funding from Doña Ana County in the past two years, or is applying for funding in the current year.
  • Has been a resident of Doña Ana County for at least three years.
  • Has demonstrated familiarity with the healthcare system/services in Doña Ana County.
  • Represents providers, consumers, or advocates of healthcare services.

Prior to public recommendations to the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners in February, 2010, each applicant selected to the evaluation committee will be required to:

  • Attend a training orientation.
  • Sign a conflict of interest form.
  • Read all proposals, which may be done over four to seven days including a weekend.
  • Individually score each of the proposals.
  • Meet as a group (facilitated by Doña Ana County staff) a minimum of three (3) times to discuss scoring, funding, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Attend a Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting to present the recommendation.

The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners will appoint the evaluation committee from among the qualified applicants. The committee will assist Doña Ana County in evaluating collaborative proposals under each of the following funding priorities:

  1. Countywide clinical and hospice services
  2. Countywide health education and promotion services

Agencies eligible for funding include non-profit, state, federal and quasi-governmental entities. All applications must be delivered to Jess Williams in the Doña Ana County Commission Liaison Office, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M., 88007. The deadline for applications to be returned is no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.
