FIFTH ANNUAL MUTT SHOW KICKS OFF MARCH 26 AT YOUNG PARK

The Fifth Annual Mutt Show gets underway March 26 at Young Park in Las Cruces. Registration begins at 11 a.m., and the show begins at noon.

Prizes will be awarded in both the large and small dog divisions in the following categories: sweetest smile, biggest paws, smallest paws, most obedient, most owner resemblance, best costume, trickiest dog, longest tail, shortest tail and longest ears.

Contest registration is $5 per dog, per category, with all revenue split between the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley and the Las Cruces Chapter of the American Red Cross. All dogs must be leashed at all times.

All participating dogs will receive ribbons, and every contestant will receive a door prize.

The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley will facilitate pet adoptions at the event. Adoption fees are $75 for dogs/ puppies and $50 for cats/kittens. The fee includes the first set of vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip.
