DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF SEVENTEEN

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate 17 detention officer cadets on Friday, March 4, 2011.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center, under the supervision of Sgt. Luis Contreras.

The graduating cadets are Mario Contreras, Matt Cordova, Alfonzo Cortez, Cesar Fernandez, Jason Fountain, Jose Guerrero, Jeff Haworth, Joseph Henrriquez, Mario Macias, Alma Marquez, Carry Montaño, David Peña, Enrique Perez, Manuel Perez, James Prince, Jesus Salinas and Samuel Smith.

District 3 Doña Ana County Commissioner Karen G. Perez will deliver the commencement address, and Doña Ana County Probate Judge Alice Salcido will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 4. The public is encouraged to attend.
