COUNTY SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR COUNTY REDISTRICTING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Doña Ana County is seeking applicants to serve on a Redistricting Advisory Committee to work with the County’s consultant to develop redistricting proposals for the Board of County Commissioner’s consideration.
The Redistricting Advisory Committee will be comprised of two registered democrats, two registered republicans, and one other member. Applicants must be willing to commit to three, all-day public meetings and other meetings as needed to complete the project.
Redistricting is the process of redrawing commission boundaries after a decennial U.S. census in an effort to provide for equal commission representation.
Interested individuals must deliver a letter of interest that specifies the individual’s political party affiliation to Jess Williams in the Doña Ana County Commission Liaison Office, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M., 88007. Letters of interest will be accepted through 5 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011.
Williams will consult with the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections to confirm party affiliation.
