BUREAU OF ELECTIONS RELEASES ABSENTEE, EARLY VOTING SCHEDULE

In advance of the Nov. 2 General Elections, the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections has released the following information to assist early and absentee voters, as well as those who have not yet registered to vote.

A State-Wide Absentee Ballot Application is now available at www.donaanacounty.org under the elections tab

• The application is simple, fast and easy.

• Simply fill out the application, then print and mail to the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office at 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M. 88007

o The application must be signed by requestor and mailed back via the U.S. Postal Service.

o Filling out this application online does NOT submit it to the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office.

Voter Registration Deadline is fast approaching.

• Any person wishing to register must register in person or by mail before Oct. 5, 2010 at 5 p.m.

• The Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office strongly suggests that registrations be done at the Doña Ana County Government Center or at either the Doña Ana County Republican Party Headquarters at 121 Wyatt Dr., Suite 15, in Las Cruces, or at the Doña Ana County Democrat Party Headquarters at 136 N. Water St., also in Las Cruces.

• All mailed-in registrations postmarked on or before Oct. 5, 2010, will be accepted by the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office.

• Voter registration will re-open Nov. 8, 2010.

Early Voting runs Oct. 5-30, 2010, at the Doña Ana County Government Center

• Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays.

• No voting at the Doña Ana Government Center on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, in observance of Columbus Day.

Early Voting begins Oct. 16, 2010, at the following times and sites across the county

• Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16.

• Voting hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Tuesday, Oct. 19, through Friday, Oct. 22.

• Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23.

• Voting hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Tuesday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 29.

• Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

• Hatch Community Center, 837 Highway 187, Hatch, N.M.

• Sonoma Elementary School, 4201 Northrise Road, Las Cruces, N.M.

• Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., Las Cruces, N.M.

• Anthony Water and Sanitation District Offices, 1155 N. Fourth St., Anthony, N.M.

• Dolores Wright Park, 150 W. Lisa Dr., Chaparral, N.M.

• Gadsden Independent School District Administration Building, 4950 McNutt Road, City of Sunland Park, N.M.
