DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF NINE

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate nine detention officer cadets on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center, under the supervision of Sgt. Luis Contreras.

The graduating cadets are Diego Cardona, Noe Cervantes, Ricardo Estrada, David Fernandez, Antonio Mora, Luther Mosley, Alexandro Sias, Melissa Wegleitner and Alonso Zimmerman,

District 4 Doña Ana County Commissioner Scott A. Krahling will deliver the commencement address, and Judge Conrad Perea will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 20. The public is encouraged to attend.
