ASCMV BOARD TO HOLD STRATEGIC PLANNING WORK SESSION

The board of directors of the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley will hold a work session at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 20, in the Las Cruces City Council Chambers at 700 N. Main St., in Las Cruces.

The work session will be devoted to a committee report on a draft strategic plan to address a number of issues that affect the operations of the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley.

Topics to be addressed include: spay/neuter programs, owner-release procedures, interaction with city and county animal control personnel, volunteer services and coordination, adoption strategies, rescue activities, foster-home programs, facility needs and funding challenges.

The public is encouraged to attend.

The committee presenting the report comprises Chairman Bob Villeneuve, Vice Chair Clare Kapner, shelter Director Dr. Beth Vesco-Mock and committee members Dr. Donna Eichstadt, Jean Gilbert, Linda Hall Bob Hearn, Carolyn Horner and Jake Sims.

The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley board of directors comprises Chairman Miguel Silva and City Councilors Nathan Small and Dolores Connor along with County Commissioners Oscar Vásquez Butler and Scott A. Krahling and Doña Ana County Public Information Director Jess Williams.
