DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF FIFTEEN

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate 13 detention officer cadets and two sergeants on Friday, April 2, 2010.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center, under the supervision of Sgt. Luis Contreras.

The graduating cadets are Anthony Amerman, Shawn Armitage, Armando Calzadillas, Francisco Carrasco, Hope Carrasco, Gabriel del Rio, Carlos Garcia, Joel Garcia, Omar Garcia, Julio Ibarra, Antonio Lazarin, Vanessa Sanchez and Jon Webster. Darlene Wilson and Fernando Corral will graduate with the rank of sergeant.

District 1 Doña Ana County Commissioner Oscar Vásquez Butler will deliver the commencement address, and Judge Conrad Perea will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 2. The public is encouraged to attend.
