DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF EIGHT

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate seven detention officer cadets and one sergeant on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center, under the supervision of Sgt. Luis Contreras.

The graduating cadets are Michael Bonenfant, Zachary Chastain, Decoya Falkner, David Frederickson, Andres Morales, Erica Olmos and Daniel Saiz. Tiara Consentino will graduate with the rank of sergeant.

District 1 Doña Ana County Commissioner Oscar Vásquez Butler will deliver the commencement address, and Doña Ana County Probate Judge Alice Salcido will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15. The public is encouraged to attend.
