TWO DISPATCH EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Two employees of the Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority have been recognized for outstanding performance.

Christopher Cooksey was the valedictorian of the 40-member 110th Public Safety Dispatcher class of the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy, which graduated earlier this month in Santa Fe. The three-week academy is required for all dispatchers within one year of taking employment. The academy is run by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety. Attendees are subjected to intensive classroom training in emergency communications policies, procedures, and operations for 40-hours per week during the 3-week period.

Also in November, Yesenia Lara was honored by the New Mexico Office of Emergency Medical Services, Region 2 EMS Council, as its Emergency Medical Dispatcher of the Year. Lara is employed as a Lead Dispatcher with the Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority.

“We are all extremely proud of Chris and Yesenia and their accomplishments, which reflect well on our organization,” said Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority Director Hugo Costa. “We are fortunate to have them working for us at MVRDA. They both are assets for all the residents of Dona Ana County.”
