DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF FIFTEEN CADETS

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate 15 detention officer cadets on Friday, July 24.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the six-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center.

The graduating cadets are Eber Alvarez, Pete Armenta, Bradley Baldwin, Rogelio Barron, Alberto Castro, Michelle Garcia, Christian Gomez, Jose Hernandez, Ramiro Huerta, Eric Love, Vanessa Medina, Louis Powell, Gregory Valles, Peter Vargas and Ryan Walls.

Doña Ana County Commission Chair Leticia Duarte-Benavidez will deliver the commencement address, and Doña Ana County Probate Judge Alice Salcido will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24. The public is encouraged to attend.
