DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF ELEVEN CADETS

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate 11 detention officer cadets on Friday, June 12.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the seven-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center.

The graduating cadets are Beatriz Aguilar, Sammy Apodaca, Nicholas Fernandez, Jahan Gilmore, Ryan Hanson, Scott Huffman, Avory Lucero, Pablo Ludington, Miguel Montanez, Byron Mullins and Pete Solis.

District 1 Doña Ana County Commissioner Oscar Vásquez Butler will deliver the commencement address, and Magistrate Judge Richard Silva will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12. The public is encouraged to attend.
