COUNTY HOMEPAGE WILL FEATURE LOCAL, UNOFFICIAL ELECTION RESULTS BEGINNING AT 7 P.M.; PUBLIC, CANDIDATES, REPORTERS WELCOME AT GOVERNMENT CENTER FOR ELECTION NIGHT

Beginning at 7 p.m. today, visitors to the Doña Ana County website will find updated, unofficial election results on the home page at www.donaanacounty.org

The information on the site will be updated regularly throughout the evening as the county’s 117 precinct judges bring their ballot boxes to the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections.

In addition, the Doña Ana County Government Center Commission Chambers will be open to reporters, candidates and the general public on the evening of the Tuesday, Nov. 4, General Elections. The Government Center opens at 7:30 a.m. and will remain open until midnight.

While ballots are being processed and results posted, the Bureau of Elections will be visible from the hallway, but closed to reporters, candidates and the general public.

Only county staff and officially designated campaign observers will be allowed into the ballot-processing area.

In addition to regularly posting local election result updates on the county’s website (www.donaanacounty.org) throughout the evening, Doña Ana County also will display updates in the Commission Chambers as they are posted from the Bureau of Elections.

Wireless Internet access will be provided inside the Commission Chambers for the evening, allowing those with laptop computers to monitor other election websites throughout the state and nation as the evening progresses. The password for wireless users will be posted in the Commission Chambers for the evening, then changed the following morning to prevent unauthorized access to the county’s network.

A link on the elections-update page will link to the county’s normal homepage, from which the entire website can be navigated normally.
