BUREAU OF ELECTIONS LAUNCHES WEB-BASED ABSENTEE-BALLOT TRACKER

The Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections has added a new feature to its webpage that allows absentee voters to track their absentee ballots.

The feature prompts an absentee voter to enter his/her last name, year of birth, street address and ZIP code. The program then searches the elections database to determine whether an absentee ballot has been requested.

The Absentee Ballot Tracker can be accessed at: http://www.donaanacounty.org/elections/absentee

If a ballot request is outstanding, the system will show the voter’s full name and one or more of the following: the date the absentee-ballot application was received, the date the ballot was mailed out and the date the completed ballot was received for processing at the Bureau of Elections.

Lead Document Technician Mario Jimenez of the Bureau of Elections said the new feature is designed to assist absentee voters in tracking the status of their ballot.

Absentee voting begins Oct. 7 in advance of the Nov. 4 General Elections.
