DETENTION CENTER TO GRADUATE CLASS OF SIX CADETS

The Doña Ana County Detention Center will graduate six detention officer cadets on Friday, July 11.

The graduating cadets have satisfactorily completed the six-week Basic Detention Officers’ Academy, which consists of physical training, classroom instruction and field experience. All training is done in-house at the county’s detention center.

The graduating cadets are Jesus Cancino, Jr., Mary Chitwood, Carolyn Maldonado, Brian Martinez, Frank Villanueva and Benjamin Young.

District 3 Doña Ana County Commissioner Karen G. Perez will deliver the commencement address, and Doña Ana County Probate Judge Alice Salcido will administer the oaths of service.

The commencement ceremony will be held in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center at 845 N. Motel Blvd. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 11. The public is encouraged to attend.
