TOWN HALL MEETINGS SCHEDULED TO ADDRESS ELECTRIC-RATE HIKES

In conjunction with the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners, the City of Las Cruces and the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and in response to customer concerns about recent electric bills, El Paso Electric has scheduled Town Hall meetings at three locations in Dona Ana County.

The first meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, in the Dona Ana County Commission Chambers on the first floor of the Dona Ana County Government Center at 845 North Motel Boulevard in Las Cruces. This meeting will be video-recorded and submitted to the local public-access television station for airtime consideration. This meeting also can be listened to live over the Internet at www.donaanacounty.org/listen

The second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Vado/Del Cerro Community Center at 180 La Fe St. in Vado, N.M.

The third meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the Hatch Community Center at 837 N.M. 187 in Hatch.

El Paso Electric President and Chief Executive Officer Ershel Redd and other EPE officials will take part in the presentation to defend and explain recent rate increases to customers.

Translation services will be provided at each meeting.
