Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, able to pass a background check and willing to volunteer at least two times per month. Applications are being accepted through Aug. 15, with classes beginning Sept. 1, 2007.

Mandatory advocacy training meetings are held every other month for volunteers who enter the program.

Volunteer shifts are available days, nights and weekends. Among other things, volunteers provide on-call advocacy to victims, help in the office with victim follow-ups and walk-ins, assist with presentations and community fairs, and provide office assistance in maintaining records and statistical charts.
