SPEAKERS’ BUREAU OFFERS DISASTER-PREPARATION PRESENTATIONS

The Doña Ana County/City of Las Cruces Office of Emergency Management has assembled a speakers’ bureau to address family-disaster preparedness.

The 45-to-60-minute presentations can be tailored to specific civic groups, hobby clubs, parent-teacher organizations and other community groups, regardless of size.

Topics addressed in each Family-Preparedness presentation include:

• Homeland Security’s Threat-Advisory System
• History of Disasters in Doña Ana County
• Natural Hazards Impacts on the Community
• Guidance for Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place
• How to Stay Informed During an Emergency
• Weather Alerts
• Family Disaster-Supply Kits
• Family Reunification Strategies

Volunteers from various Masonic Lodges in Doña Ana County have undergone extensive training on conducting the presentations in situations where Office of Emergency Management staff is unable to do so.

To schedule a presentation for your group or organization, contact Tom Townsend at the Doña Ana County Office of Emergency Management at (505) 647-7900
