ANTHONY RESIDENTS, GOVERNMENTS ANNOUNCE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT

Residents of the unincorporated community of Anthony, N.M. in Doña Ana County and of the City of Anthony, Texas, are invited to a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the American Legion Hall to unveil a joint project to benefit the Anthony Park area.

Co-hosted by District 2 Doña Ana County Commissioner Dolores Saldaña-Caviness and Anthony, Texas, Mayor Art Franco, the ceremony will focus on creating recreational trail systems to serve residents on both sides of the Texas/N.M. border.

When completed, the $150,000 initiative will feature landscaped trails along a large arroyo that bisects the community. The trails will feature small parks in both New Mexico and Texas, with shade structures, benches and solar lighting.

The public and the media are encouraged to attend. The Anthony American Legion Hall is located at 221 Polar St. in Anthony, Texas.
