NEW PROCESS UNDERWAY FOR EXTERNAL AGENCIES TO SEEK COUNTY FUNDING

Doña Ana County has changed the way it will award funding to external agencies for services ranging from animal control mobile-library services.

In the past, agencies have simply submitted applications for funding. The new process calls for agencies to submit detailed proposals for service delivery. All proposals received for any service or group of services will be assessed competitively and funding allocated by the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners based on proposals that are measurable, accountable and economically viable.

Doña Ana County has issued requests for proposals (RFPs) in the following five service areas:

1) Senior Services – to include
* Delivery of meals to homes and senior centers
* Transportation
* Recreational opportunities (including Senior Olympics)
* Mentoring services
* Advocacy services
