DOÑA ANA COUNTY AIRPORT MANAGER ELECTED TO ASSOCIATION BOARD

Doña Ana County Airport Manager Vernon Wilson has been elected to the board of directors of the New Mexico Airport Managers’ Association.

The board election was held Jan. 12 at the association’s quarterly meeting in Albuquerque. The new officers will assume their duties at the association’s next quarterly meeting, scheduled in April.

The New Mexico Airport Managers’ Association provides education and support for the managers of New Mexico’s 58 airports. The association also promotes aviation and aviation interests across the state.

The association will sponsor “Aviation in New Mexico Day” at the New Mexico Legislature on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007.

“Association members are encouraging all of the state’s airports and aviation-related businesses to put up displays and let the legislators know about the importance and impact of aviation to the state and local communities,” Wilson said.

Others elected to the board of directors include Lisa Murphy, manager of the Las Cruces International Airport, and Mark Fratrick, manager of the Taos Airport, both for one-year terms. Steve Summers of Clovis was elected president and David Ploeger of Los Alamos was elected vice-president.
