APPLICANTS SOUGHT FOR EXTRA-TERRITORIAL ZONING COMMISSION SEATS

Applications for two upcoming open positions on the Extra Territorial Zoning Commission are being sought by the Doña Ana County Planning Department.

The positions represent two of the county’s representatives to the seven-member city/county entity.

The term of each appointment will be two years. The ETZ extends in a five-mile radius from the Las Cruces city limits. The ETZ Commission meets regularly on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the Doña Ana County Government Center and/or the City of Las Cruces Council Chambers.

The ETZ Commission oversees development in a five-mile area that rings the city limits of Las Cruces. The Commission regularly reviews development sketch plans, subdivision plats, zone changes and special-use permit applications within the ETZ.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, a resume and three letters of reference to Senior Planner Janine Divyak, Doña Ana County Planning Department, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M., 88007. Deadline for receipt of all applications is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2006.

Incumbent commissioners are encouraged to reapply, but all applications will be considered.
