DOÑA ANA COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER IN RUNNING FOR NATIONAL AWARD

The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) has notified Doña Ana County that the Doña Ana County Government Center is a finalist in the Civic/Public Building category for the 2006 NAIOP Awards of Excellence.

Within the next several weeks, NAIOP plans to send a film crew to take footage of the Doña Ana County Government Center and to speak with representatives of county management, the contractor, Wooton Construction of Las Cruces, and the architectural firm, Design Collaborative Southwest of Albuquerque.

According to its website, NAIOP, based in Herndon, Va., is the nation's leading trade association for developers, owners, investors, asset managers and other professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate. Founded in 1967, NAIOP comprises 13,000+ members in 50 North American chapters. It provides networking opportunities, educational programs, research on trends and innovations and legislative representation. NAIOP's sister organization, the NAIOP Research Foundation, is described as one of the industry's leading think tanks dedicated to conducting research assessing the trends, economic viability and needs of the built environment.
