COMMUNITY MEETINGS SLATED TO GET INPUT FOR LEGISLATIVE SESSION

A series of community meetings has been scheduled to allow Doña Ana County commissioners and state legislators to meet with constituents in advance of the 2007 Legislature.

The meetings are designed to help the county identify community-funding priorities that can be pursued when the Legislature is in session.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

* 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 26: Rincon Community Center, 220 Baker St., to record input from the communities of Rincon, Rodey, Hatch, Milagro, Salem and Garfield. English/Spanish simultaneous translation will be offered.

* 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27: Santa Teresa County Club, to record input from the communities of La Union and Santa Teresa. English/Spanish simultaneous translation will be offered.

* 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28: Anthony Water Association Headquarters, 1155 N. Fourth St., to record input from the community of Anthony. English/Spanish simultaneous translation will be offered.

* 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29: Chamberino Volunteer Fire Department, to record input from the community of Chamberino. English/Spanish simultaneous translation will be offered.

* 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2: Doña Ana County Government Center Commission Chambers, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, to record input from the communities of Picacho Hills, Mesilla Hills, Fairacres and Raasaf Hills.

* 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10: Desert Sands Mutual Domestic, 59 Links Road, to record input from the communities of Las Palmeras and Montana Vista. English/Spanish simultaneous translation will be offered.

* 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18: Chaparral Community Center, 190 County Line Road, to record input from the community of Chaparral. English/Spanish simultaneous translation will be offered.
