FEMA REPRESENTATIVES TO VISIT RURAL COMMUNITIES THIS WEEK

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have scheduled four site visits this week to assist flood-affected residents and small-business owners with the process for recovery assistance. All site visits will feature bilingual translation services.

FEMA representatives, VISTA volunteers and personnel from the Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department will be on hand at the following locations, dates and times.

* 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Chaparral Community Center at 190 County Line Rd., Chaparral, N.M., 88081

* 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Del Cerro Community Center at 180 La Fe Ave., Del Cerro, N.M., 88048

* 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14, at a location to be announced within the City of Sunland Park

* 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15, at Doña Ana Community Center at 5745 Ledesma Dr., Doña Ana, N.M., 88032

Flood-affected residents will be able to register their names and properties at these community events. FEMA will schedule a site inspection of all damaged properties within 10 days of registration, followed by a letter within 10 days after the inspection. Approval or denial of assistance will be communicated in writing within 60 days of the letter.
