HATCH WATER SUPPLY UNCOMPROMISED, TESTS SHOW

Experts from the New Mexico Environment Department have concluded testing of the Village of Hatch’s water supply and distribution system. Chlorine levels at the storage tank and at multiple test sites throughout the village are consistent, indicating that the water supply is safe for consumption. A broken water line is under repair, but the break is between the well and the storage tank, so no contaminants have entered the water supply.

Shelter coordinators at Hatch High School are reporting high demands for bottled water by residents who are under the impression that the tap water is compromised. Village officials assure the public that the water supply is fine.
