Heavy flooding in and near Hatch has prompted the Doña Ana County Emergency Operations Center to activate. A command center in Hatch has been established at the Hatch Police Department.

Support crews from the Rincon, Garfield and Radium Springs volunteer fire departments have been dispatched to Hatch to assist with emergency operations.

A temporary evacuation shelter has been established at Hatch High School, with about 150 evacuees expected. At least one apartment complex in the northern part of the community is under evacuation orders at this time.
